iPICK represents a collaboration between iQmultimedia and BHP Billiton to build a system to make vital safety documents available to its workforce.
Illawarra Coal came to iQmultimedia with a problem: its miners weren't able to conclusively find the current version of important documents (such as safe operating procedures for its mining machinery); and even once they had a document in their hands, they had no way of knowing if it was still valid.
The solution built by iQmultimedia combines our specialities; custom touch-screen kiosk manufacture and software with attractive, user-centric interface design and development.
Across more than a year of iterative development, iPICK has become a key part of BHP Billiton’s safety programme. Following its massive success at Illawarra Coal, iPICK kiosks are now deployed at over 15 sites from Queensland to the US.
It was only through the unique user-focused design and development employed by iQmultimedia that iPICK was able to break through the crucial user acceptance barrier other systems have faced.

Kiosk Production
Since iQmultimedia fabricate the kiosks in-house, the iPICK kiosks have evolved with the software to incorporate everything from barcode scanners to smartcard readers.
